India ranks among the top 10 global coffee producers, offering a distinctive range of Arabica and Robusta varieties that are highly valued by international roasters and wholesalers. Indian coffee is known for its unique growing conditions — shade-grown under a canopy of spice trees in the Western Ghats — which impart a complex, distinctive flavor profile unlike coffees from other origins.

Indian Coffee Varieties Available for Bulk Export

Monsooned Malabar: India's most unique coffee — green beans exposed to monsoon winds, resulting in low acidity, heavy body, and earthy flavor. Highly sought by European specialty roasters. Arabica Cherry AB and PB: Medium-bodied, bright acidity, fruity notes. Karnataka (Coorg, Chikmagalur) is primary source. Robusta Cherry AB: Full body, chocolatey finish. Used extensively in espresso blends and instant coffee manufacturing.

Green Coffee Export Specifications and Grading

Indian green coffee is graded by the Coffee Board of India. Grade categories: AB (screen size 17/18), PB (peaberry), C (screen size 15/16). Moisture: 10.5-12% maximum. Defects: NSCA standard as per Coffee Board norms. Packaging: 60kg jute or GrainPro bags. HS Code for green coffee: 0901.11.

Coffee Board Certification and Export Process

All Indian coffee exports must be registered with the Coffee Board of India. The exporter must have a valid Coffee Board exporter license. Certificate of Origin from Coffee Board, phytosanitary certificate, and quality certificate accompany every shipment. Aarav Broking works with licensed coffee exporters and estate owners in Karnataka and Kerala to provide bulk green coffee to international roasters.
